Mountain Bike around Kathmandu Valley

BIKING AROUND KATHMANDU VALLEY

There is perhaps no better way of escaping the hustle and bustle of the city than to get out on a bike to discover some of the best known hill stations on the valley Rim. From both Nagarkot and Chisapani the views of the Himalaya are simply breath-taking.  Along route, the tour passes through the beautiful monastery at Namobuddha, the ancient town centers of Panauti and Dhulikhel, a real chance for some serious fresh air with time enough to explore the rich rural culture and tradition of the Valley.

The ride is a moderate one, with lots of ups and downs and requires a good level of fitness. The trails are mixed jeep track, single track, country roads and short sections on main road.

The trip starts with the long climb to Kakani; the ride is classified as one for the intermediate to advanced rider. From Kakani the ride traverses the technical Scar Road, one of the best mountain biking routes in the Valley. The trail passes from one scenic view spot to the next with endless views of the Himalaya.
